Chameleon MIL 2.0 Whip

If used in a stand-alone setup the antenna will cover 28-54 MHz with an external antenna tuner. To enhance RF propagation and antenna performance a ground-plane is recommended.

Its design has been borrowed from similar antennas utilized by many armies all over the world. The Chameleon MIL 2.0 is very hardy, sturdy and portable (being collapsible). Un-mounted the entire antenna length is less than 51 cm. The 7 brass sections of 43 cm long each are hold together by a piece of military shock cord.

If combined to the Chameleon MIL EXT 2.0 (2.68 meter long), a 5.55 meter long vertical antenna can be created for use on bands down to 20m. Chameleon HYBRID-MICRO and Chameleon HYBRID-MINI will further enhance the system by adding a broadband impedance matching transformer (5:1) allowing for broadband antenna tuning between 1.8-54 MHz using most internal and external tuners.
